Testimonies from people who love our mission

Village Center for the Arts rocks! This community is so fortunate to have you and your offerings. The energy, spirit, passion and commitment the staff has for the arts is off the charts, and the safe space provided for individuals to tap into their creative side and explore new mediums is such a gift. You are definitely a go-to place for self-discovery. You give everyone the space, permission and support they need to let their imagination blossom!

"I want to thank you for helping me make sure my son was able to come to camp this summer. He had an awesome time. I didn't tell him you helped him out with a scholarship because I thought it would make him uncomfortable. Thought I would suggest volunteering at a later time to give a little back. Before I even got the chance, he told me he wants to be a volunteer! He said he'd walk both ways if that's what it would take; THAT'S how much of an impact your center had on him. You made his summer!"

"Great place to create art of any kind. They have high-quality supplies which are all available to use and well-lit welcoming workspaces. A bonus is that the premises are peanut and tree-nut free, as they have many after-school programs and camps offered. A welcoming safe space for all right in downtown New Milford. Thank you!"

"Always love this place. My 7-year-old can let her imagination run wild and build a one of a kind creation from the huge selection of materials during open studio. Great friendly staff too"!

"This place rocks for any age. We go as a family, and there's something wonderful to do for my 6-year-old, my 8-year-old, my husband & I, & even my mother. Whether it's painting, pottery, dioramas - they've got it all. Plus the staff to help. Great for kid or adult birthday parties and events too (we've done it!). I lived in NYC for 17 years & never found anything offering the freedom, diversity & overall awesomeness of artistic expression offered at VCA. Their workshops and date nights are also a blast. I can't say enough good things about this place - obviously"!!!!

Our family has been going to the VCA for several years - it is fun for kids and adults.
We purchased a two night "Dirty Date Night" for Christmas a few years ago.
Sharon was a great teacher/ hostess and we had a great time shaping our clay into beautiful bowls, meeting people while having snacks/drinks - two great nights out! Our daughter, 9 years old, has been taking classes for four years. She loves it. Sharon is a great teacher who encourages independence and creativity. Sharon gives great lessons and inspiration at each child's level.
Sharon offers opportunities for growth and very importantly inspires her students to branch out and be creative.
Sharon and the VCA experience has built a confidence in our daughter that has translated into other parts of her life. We are excited for the VCA to continue to develop and embrace our daughters love of art.
Upstairs Jason and Dianne have been very helpful over the years regarding scheduling, payment, and adding inspiration to our work. Our extended family have taken advantage of the open studio in past years and it has been a bonding experience for us.
